The “CreArt” project connects 14 collaborative urban spaces within the EU, representing Europe’s cultural diversity and richness. The participating cities vary in size, cultural traditions, geographical location, institutional development, and socio-economic profile.

The network brings together organizations with extensive practical experience in cultural collaboration and management. The different “CreArt” activities target various groups, fostering creativity and collaboration.

One of the most significant activities is the European CreArt Exhibition, which over five years will host five joint exhibitions in European cities. Each exhibition will feature works from 20-30 artists from each participating country, displayed in prestigious venues.

Reproductions of the works and information about the participating artists are published in a digital exhibition catalog, also available on the CreArt website, and a printed exhibition book (catalog) is released.

Each year, the international exhibition is hosted by a different city, helping professional artists showcase their work in galleries across Europe.

European Creativity Day is celebrated annually on March 21st in all partner cities, engaging youth, students, and adults (non-art professionals) in creative activities.

The Art Residencies Program offers professional artists the opportunity to live and create abroad in partner cities, with full support to produce and present their work and collaborate with local curators and artists.

Creative Workshops are organized for young artists, involving both emerging creators and established art professionals from partner cities.

Each year, partner cities host conferences with presentations by experts from EU institutions, cultural foundations, partner city cultural institutions, and academia.

A research study is conducted during the project, encompassing the cities within the “CreArt” international network. This study aims to create and standardize systems of analysis and research within local cultural policies, promoting public-private partnerships and community engagement.

Project Coordinator: The city of Valladolid, Spain (Municipal Foundation for Culture, Valladolid City Council).
