Traveling with Antanas Šeronas: “In the Footsteps of Time”

Antanas Šeronas, based in Šiauliai, Lithuania, is a dedicated and methodical artist whose work over recent years has produced a significant body of paintings. His art, appreciated by those familiar with his unique style and contributions, is now being showcased in Vilnius, inviting city art enthusiasts to engage with his exploration of time and presence.

Having held numerous major solo exhibitions across various Lithuanian cities, Šeronas now presents “In the Footsteps of Time,” a collection that traces the signs left by time and our sensations within that continuum.

Šeronas has developed a distinctive style through his focused and deliberate approach to painting. His works are not simply trends or modernist rehashes, but rather reflect a deeply felt and observed reality. His paintings capture emotional landscapes and the physicality of objects affected by decay and time, often evoking a patina of age or rust.

A true colorist, Šeronas is known for his stylization, carefully chosen motifs, and an unconventional approach to visual themes. His works convey emotion and a sense of timelessness, often depicting transitional phases like twilight or fog, capturing the melancholy and subtle beauty of these moments. His paintings tell stories of past or present individuals through the interplay of color, light, and shadow.

This exhibition will feature works painted both in Lithuania and Sicily, along with impressions inspired by the Sicilian landscape.
