The “Rotušės Kolonada 2024” Music and Culture Festival returns for the fourth time this summer to one of the main squares in the capital. From early June to the end of September, free concerts will be held every week under the open sky next to Vilnius Town Hall, featuring performers of various music styles, as well as presentations by sustainable fashion creators.
Vilnius Town Hall announces that a total of 13 free music and culture events will take place during the festival.
On June 20 at 19:00, at the Rotušės Kolonada Festival, the band ŽALVARINIS will present their latest album “Cantabile.”
The evening will feature pieces from this album, as well as the most beautiful songs created over the collective’s twenty years of existence. The group’s concerts are full of contrasts, ranging from calmly performed sutartinės to modernly arranged Lithuanian folk songs in a rock style.
ŽALVARINIS – the most renowned Lithuanian folk rock band from Vilnius. Sharp guitar riffs, rock pulsation, folk elements, their interpretations, and the synthesis of contemporary music styles – this is ŽALVARINIS. Lithuanian song traditions, fiery performances, and influences from not only rock but also blues and world music create an unforgettable, powerful explosive musical mix.
Founded in 2001 by composer, producer, guitarist, and vocalist Robertas Semeniukas, the band currently includes vocalists Sigita Jonynaitė, Viltė Ambrazaitytė, and Robertas Semeniukas, with session musicians joining them for concerts.
The band’s energy and rock ‘n’ roll and blues groove get everyone moving. It is no surprise that ŽALVARINIS performs at various rock music festivals not only in Lithuania but also in the United States, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Austria, Poland, Ukraine, and China.

ŽALVARINIS does not shy away from experimenting, collaborating with renowned rock, jazz, and folk professionals, and the best Lithuanian performers. In 2014, the band even made waves at the World Lithuanian Song Festival, performing their songs with the combined choir of the Song Festival participants. This year, the band participated in the national Eurovision selection and won great public acclaim.
Over its twenty-year existence, the band has recorded ten music albums, performed in nearly every Lithuanian city, participated in concerts commemorating the Baltic Way, and Independence Day celebrations in Lithuania and abroad. The band’s music is featured in film soundtracks, radio stations, television, and is also included in the music exam syllabus for high school graduates.
