Vilnius Town Hall Colonnade – Music Under the Summer Sky!

Dolce far niente (Italian for “Sweet Idleness”) is a musical performance composed of well-known arias, duets, and ensembles from various operas, creating a new theatrical narrative that has little to do with the original plots of the operas. Here, the music becomes the creator of the atmosphere, and you may hear the famous arias in completely unexpected contexts.
This musical performance, Dolce far niente, invites the audience to a sweet and light dinner of an aristocratic family, where the spectators will also feel like participants. Against the backdrop of a carefree dinner, as boredom sets in, the idyllic picture of the family slowly begins to dissolve: as the evening progresses, everything becomes uncontrollable, and the true, unmasked faces and relationships of the family members start to emerge. Could this be the family’s last dinner together?
