At Vilnius Town Hall from August 31 to September 28, 2023, the exhibition PERMACRISIS featured works by renowned artists Egmontas Bžesko, Audrius Gražys, Tadas Gutauskas, and Vilmantas Marcinkevičius.
About twenty years ago, at the beginning of their artistic careers, the quartet joined the group “Be Šešėlių,” seeking unusual forms of expression and implementing numerous projects together.
The idea for the exhibition emerged as a response to the persistent sense of anxiety caused by recent events affecting humanity. It is like a dizzying swing, swinging from one unprecedented event to another, with no clear idea of what unrest might await around the corner.
PERMACRISIS is a retrospective that combines two periods of the artists’ work separated by twenty years. The viewer can assess the changes in the artists’ creations and deduce the factors influencing them.
