Linas Kaziulionis’ painting exhibition “Lost Narratives” will be on display at Vilnius Town Hall from November 5 to 30.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on November 5 at 5:00 PM.

Born in 1991, Linas Kaziulionis, the 2022 winner of the “Young Painter Prize” in the Baltic States, explores a pressing issue in contemporary society through his works: the overload of information, its distortion, and the relativity of truth. The artist invites visitors to critically examine the narratives that surround us and how they shape our understanding of the world.

At the heart of the exhibition is the story of a fictional chemical substance called “Controller,” which reveals the mechanisms of manipulation and disinformation. Kaziulionis’ paintings, characterized by vibrant colors and masterful use of palette, metaphorically depict information flows as poisoned food that we consume daily. He encourages viewers to become active participants in the exhibition, urging them to critically assess the information presented and reflect on their own role in the dissemination of information. The exhibition serves as a reminder that even passive use of social media can contribute to the creation of information bubbles and increase the potential for manipulation.

“Lost Narratives” is not just an artistic project but also an important reminder of the significance of critical thinking in today’s world. Kaziulionis’ work, which has already been showcased in New York, Paris, Brussels, and other cities, reflects global trends and highlights the crucial role of art in addressing the issue of disinformation.

The exhibition is curated by Ornela Ramašauskaitė, artXchange Global.
