The Grammy-winning orchestra KREMERATA LITUANICA, internationally acclaimed violin soloists Džeraldas Bidva and Dalia Dėdinskaitė, and one of the most beloved programs featuring Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Piazzolla’s “The Four Seasons” present a special concert to welcome the New Year, offering a treat for every music connoisseur.
Founded in 1997 by the renowned violinist Gidon Kremer, the Grammy-winning chamber orchestra “Kremerata Baltica” is considered one of the most distinguished international ensembles in Europe.
Since its inception, “Kremerata Baltica” has performed in over 50 countries, in 600 cities, and given more than 1,000 concerts worldwide. The orchestra continues to share Gidon Kremer’s rich artistic experience with new generations while inspiring and enriching the musical and cultural life of the Baltic countries.
“Kremerata Lituanica” is the Lithuanian branch of “Kremerata Baltica,” a nine-member ensemble that upholds the orchestra’s finest traditions, creating conceptual and original programs.
The ensemble began its activity during the pandemic when international travel for the full orchestra was highly restricted. Since then, they have performed extensively in Lithuania and toured Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Latvia, and Azerbaijan in 2021. They also collaborate with young Lithuanian composers, standing out among chamber orchestras with their conceptual approach and masterful execution.
DŽERALDAS BIDVA, described as a versatile and virtuosic violinist with a flair for improvisation, is an accomplished concertmaster and soloist who has recorded over 20 critically acclaimed albums, many earning prestigious awards like ICMA, GRAMMY, and ECHO KLASSIK. His 2018 solo recording with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra includes works by P. Vasks, A. Šenderovas, and J. Juzeliūnas.
Currently playing on an Antonio Stradivari violin (Cremona 1734, Baron Feilitzsch, Heermann), Dž. Bidva is renowned for his nuanced storytelling through music, blending individual artistry with ensemble unity.
DALIA DĖDINSKAITĖ, one of Lithuania’s leading violinists and a laureate of numerous national and international competitions, has been an assistant professor to the esteemed Austrian violinist Christian Altenburger in Vienna since 2017. She has performed as a soloist with major orchestras, including the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and Dresden’s Carl Maria von Weber Symphony Orchestra. Her standout performances include Beethoven’s violin concerto at the prestigious “Dresdner Musikfestspiele” in 2012.
Critics in Slovenia hailed her 2024 debut at the 72nd Ljubljana Festival alongside cellist Gleb Pyšniak as “Duettissimo – the best chamber music concert of the festival.”
