Discussing myths (μύθος – story, tale) is a complex task. It is a vast, multifaceted, and inexhaustible topic that continually invites new discussions and analyses. According to J. Campbell, Freud viewed myths as being closely related to dreams in a psychological sense.
The author delves into his inner world, seeking to capture the images that arise there—the visions born from the myths within. Myths originate in the imagination. Mythological images, which serve as a bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind, intertwine with personal dreams, forging a transcendent connection to the present. Mythical beings merge seamlessly with the mystical.
With bright, dense colors that immerse the observer’s gaze and gestural painting marked by expressive brushstrokes, a peculiar, artificial, yet intriguing reality is created—one free from restrictive rules. Predominantly creatures of myth and mystery, phantasmagoric and anthropomorphic characters emerging from dreams pierce the veil of the unknown and invite the viewer to explore the enigmas they embody. Perhaps even to spot a totem… These creatures radiate a unique energy, capturing the viewer’s attention and beckoning them to examine every detail. However, it’s important not to fear them, as they can sometimes be deceitful or even macabre. After all, it’s just a game without rules, where a sense of humor is essential.
The artist weaves a multi-layered narrative on the canvas, continuously provoking the observer. Irony is one of the key elements within these layers. The longer the viewer engages with the painting, the more layers unfold, inviting deeper exploration and reflections on the inner life of humanity as a whole.
