GUODA – DRUSKININKAI – ČIURLIONIS
Internationally acclaimed pianist Guoda Gedvilaitė uniquely unites artists through her innovative ideas, inspiring listeners worldwide with her performances. She has graced stages in Lithuania, various European countries, the USA, and even Japan. After completing her piano studies in Frankfurt am Main, Guoda has spent over 30 years in that city, yet she maintains a profound connection to her hometown, where her musical journey began. Currently, she serves as the artistic director for both the “Druskininkai Summer with M. K. Čiurlionis” festival and the Vilnius Town Hall Music Festival.
For Guoda, Druskininkai is a special oasis of relaxation and creativity. “Every time I return to the cherished Druskininkai, I draw inspiration and energy for future projects, which I diligently prepare for. Here, I effortlessly blend work and leisure, and my loved ones are always awaiting my return.”
The works of M. K. Čiurlionis have played a pivotal role in Guoda’s musical journey—from her inaugural recital at the Čiurlionis Museum in Druskininkai to her triumph in the 1995 International M. K. Čiurlionis Piano and Organ Competition. She frequently features Čiurlionis’ compositions in her repertoire, bringing his music to a global audience while amplifying the legacies of both Druskininkai and M. K. Čiurlionis through her artistic endeavors.
This year marks a significant milestone, not only for M. K. Čiurlionis but also for Guoda herself. At the festival, she will showcase her talents in multiple roles: as a charismatic soloist, a seamlessly fitting collaborator in chamber ensembles, a creator of captivating and innovative programs, a reliable accompanist, and as an experimental pianist infused with rhythmic magic and fresh ideas.
Guoda Gedvilaitė is the Cultural Ambassador of Druskininkai – Lithuania’s Cultural Capital 2025.
