Hosted at the Vilnius Town Hall, the exhibition showcases the finalist works of the 24th national competition “Lithuanian Press Photography” – an annual visual reflection of Lithuania’s and the world’s most significant events, daily life, emotions, and societal transformations through the eyes of photojournalists.
The exhibition presents the strongest images selected in eight professional categories, alongside the “Open Category”, which for the second year welcomes submissions from photography students and enthusiasts. This year, over 100 entries were received from across Lithuania. Displayed side by side with professional works, these images introduce a fresh, personal perspective, enriching the landscape of contemporary documentary photography.
A new addition to the 2025 exhibition is the special nomination “When EU Investments Become Visible”, initiated by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania and organized by the Lithuanian Journalists’ Union. This category invites photographers to capture how EU-funded projects are transforming the everyday lives of people and shaping the country’s environment.
“Lithuanian Press Photography” is more than just a competition – it is an annual act of reflection and visual storytelling. It invites photographers to review the past year’s work, share their most compelling images, and foster professional dialogue. The exhibition encourages viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with the times we live in through powerful and authentic visual narratives.
