Concert Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Faustas Latėnas | Vilnius Shalom Festival 2026
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the birth of Faustas Latėnas, an eminent Lithuanian composer and recipient of the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts. On 30 September at 7:00 PM, the Vilnius Shalom Festival invites audiences to a special concert at Vilnius Town Hall, dedicated to honouring the maestro’s memory and his significant contribution to Lithuanian music and Litvak cultural heritage.
The programme will feature some of Latėnas’s most distinctive chamber works, revealing his unique musical language – emotional, theatrical and deeply moving. The works will be performed by Mettis Quartet, one of Lithuania’s leading string quartets, together with Lithuanian pianist Vytis Šakūras, who is based in Germany.
Performers:
Kostas Tumosa – violin
Bernardas Petrauskas – violin
Tomas Petrikis – viola
Rokas Vaitkevičius – cello
Vytis Šakūras – piano
