Festival Closing Concert: “Bridges Across the Atlantic: Lithuania and America”

The festival’s ceremonial closing concert, “Bridges Across the Atlantic: Lithuania and America,” is dedicated to commemorating the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America. This special evening will symbolically unite the cultural heritage of the two countries and highlight the long-standing friendship between Lithuania and the United States, founded on shared values of democracy, creativity, and freedom.

The programme will bring together music by Lithuanian and American composers, ranging from the lyrical and colourful works of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, Juozas Pakalnis, and Balys Dvarionas to the vibrant compositions of George Gershwin, Amy Beach, Henry Cowell, and John Williams.

The concert will also feature impressive works by Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, and other composers, revealing the influence of European musical traditions on the cultural dialogue between the two continents.

Twenty festival performers will take the stage, including emerging talents and professional musicians from countries around the world. Their joint performance will serve not only as the culmination of the festival but also as a vivid example of international artistic collaboration.

The concert will symbolically conclude a week filled with music, creativity, and cultural exchange, once again affirming the central mission of Vivace Vilnius: to create a space in which music becomes a bridge between nations, generations, and cultures from around the world.
