The XIV International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival presents an exceptional concert – the festive programme “Five Inspirations”, performed by the NIKO ensemble and Gediminas Gelgotas, celebrating the ensemble’s milestone 20th season.

NIKO’s performances leave no one indifferent. Their concerts end in thunderous ovations, while tickets disappear as quickly as the first snow of winter. Each performance is a show in which instrumental music organically intertwines with movement, vocals, stage effects and artistic touches of lighting. Every detail is carefully considered, creating an unforgettable impression that lingers even after the stage lights have gone out.

Audiences at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and numerous other concert halls around the world have risen to their feet to applaud NIKO. The ensemble has performed for Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama, as well as for presidents of foreign countries and other high-ranking guests.

In 2026, NIKO is dedicating its anniversary concerts to composers whose music has become an integral part of the ensemble’s artistic identity and repertoire – iconic figures of minimalism and post-minimalism Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt, Max Richter and Ludovico Einaudi, as well as the music of Gediminas Gelgotas himself. However, the concert at the International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival will be particularly special, as the Vilnius Town Hall concert hall will bring together, in a single evening, the highlights of all five original programmes.

The International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival is organised by VšĮ “Klasika LT”.
