On September 3, at 16:00, Vilnius City Hall will host the ceremonial event celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association (LDS) – the conference “Lithuanian Art History: Key Pages” and the opening of the exhibition “High Voltage Network.” The exhibition will present works by the most creative and talented LDS members who have been awarded the prestigious “Golden Badges.”

The “Golden Badges” award is the most important prize of the LDS, granted to artists and art historians for outstanding artistic achievements and contributions. It is particularly significant because it is awarded by the most discerning critics – fellow artists. Golden Badges and cash prizes have been awarded since 2000, and over 25 years, more than 80 creators have been honored.

The exhibition “High Voltage Network”, dedicated to the LDS 90th anniversary, is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the artists the association is proud of and who serve as role models for younger generations. The exhibition explores the exceptional artistic creative process and the extraordinary, unusual states of the artist. In painting, textile, photography, graphic, and ceramic works, cultural, historical, and human themes intertwine, conveying a wealth of trembling anxiety, joy, and tension. This forms a specific creative network – intense yet engaging. The selected artists’ works concentrate powerful creative flows, reflecting not only individual style but also complex contemporary artistic processes, sometimes comparable to electric discharges or strong electromagnetic fields.
